Second World War 1939-1945, shipwreck, submarine
U-1105 was a German Type VII-C/41 submarine. She was one of only a few submarines that the Germans outfitted with "Alberich" coating, an experimental synthetic rubber skin of anechoic tiles designed to counter Allied sonar devices. She surrendered to British Forces in May of 1945, and was subsequently given to the United States as a war prize. On 19 September 1949 she was depth charged and sank in 91 feet of water at this location.
