enclave, historic district
Little India is an ethnic Indian enclave within the city centre of George Town. It lies within the George Town UNESCO World Heritage Site. Little India is famous for its roadside stalls selling a wide variety of Hindu paraphernalia, spices, Indian snacks, garments and decorations. The narrow streets of Little India are typically congested, but more so during Hindu festivals such as Deepavali and Thaipusam.
