Brexton, also known as Fish lake historically, was a separate mine from Bralorne owned by the Bre-x gropu, hence the name, though it was eventually bought up by Bralorne. In its heyday it had a hundred or so residents, two hotels (with the obligatory beer parlours) and various services such as mechanic shops. Today there remain a few services in addition to recreational cabins on Fish Lake (aka MacDonald Lake or Fish-MacDonald Lake). The old mine road to the heights of Mount Truax begins here.
