Sheridan Lake is in Cariboo country. It is popular for fishing (stocked trout), recreational camping, canoeing, kayaking, and power boating. The shoreline is sparsely populated with seasonal cabins and full time residences. The lake usually freezes over in the winter, which provides opportunities for cross country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. This lake is in free range cattle country, so it is common to see (or the telltale signs of) small groups of beef cattle (or escaped buffalo) walking along roads or through the forests, and through yards.
