Clearwater Lake

Clearwater Lake is about 22 km long, and is the main recreation lake in Wells Gray Park. A boat launch is located just north of Clearwater Lake campground; the area south of there is very dangerous, as the lake's outlet has a swift current and terminates over a waterfall! Along the lakeshore are 8 marine campgrounds. The river channel between the upper end of Clearwater Lake and Azure Lake is navigable, but the current is too swift for canoes, so a 1/2 kilometre portage trail has been provided. A wilderness trail leads to distant Hobson Lake.
