Azure Lake is a beautiful wilderness lake surrounded by old growth cedar forests. Waterfalls plunge off the steep mountain slopes right into the lake in several places. There are 4 wilderness campgrounds for boats and canoes, a short hiking trail to beautiful Rainbow Falls, and a backcountry route to Huntley Col. Boat access to the lake is via Clearwater River, while a short portage trail allows canoers to bypass the faster moving current. Some commercial outfits provide guided powerboat and canoeing tours of Azure Lake.
