Horseshoe Wash was a hydraulic gold-mining operation in the heyday of hydraulic mining on the lower Bridge River during the later 19th Century. Gold-washing operations significantly expanded the sandy canyon walls of the Bridge River in this area; man-made channels in the bottom of the wash, which can be accessed via an old mine road (no vehicle access) at the southeast point of the wash, where it first comes into view on Road 40. The banks are very unstable and should not be approached. Evidence of other hydraulic mining operations can be seen farther downstream along the Bridge Rivere in the form of high sandbanks on the river's south bank.
