Franklin Square, one of Philadelphia’s five original public squares laid out by William Penn in his original plan for the city, has undergone a dramatic renovation. The park now boasts several family-friendly attractions, including a miniature golf course, classic carousel, burger joint, storytelling bench, picnic area and more.

    As a local, renovating this park will be a wonderful change. It has a long and sordid history as a place to stay away from when the sun goes down.

    Wow the square looks amazing! I remember those sordid days when it was a hangout for bums and drug dealers and 'tutes...

    I heard PATCO is refurbishing the Franklin Square station, to be re-opened. Anyone have any info on this?
