Formerly, the Audubon Ballroom. The Audubon Ballroom was a theater and ballroom located in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Upper Manhattan, north of Harlem. It is best-known as the site of Malcolm X's assassination on February 21, 1965.
Only the facade of the ballroom remains. The rest of the building was demolished and replaced by Columbia University in 1992.
