Opened in 1970, the Health & Physical Education building was more commonly known as the ODU Field House, and served as the university's gymnasium, in addition to being the home court for Old Dominion's basketball teams. Replaced by the Ted Constant Convocation Center in 2002, the H&PE building is currently closed and undergoing extensive renovations. The building is scheduled to reopen in 2007, sporting a new look and other amenities.
