The Oklahoma Health Center, sometimes called the Medical District is the home to several health, research, and education organizations including the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center campus, the Oklahoma School of Science and Math, Presbyterian Health Foundation Research Park, The Oklahoma Blood Institute, Dean McGee Eye Institute, Oklahoma State Department of Health, The Central Oklahoma Chapter of the American Red Cross, The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, and the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center.

The OK Health Center is the east side anchor of the Medical Buisness District, which extends through MidTown to the St. Anthony Hospital Campus on the west.

Unlike much of the downtown area, the Medical District was one area to see growth and positive development durring Oklahoma City's economic collapses of the 70s and 80s. Today the area continues to see growth and substantial investment both public and private.
