Established in 1954 as the former Chemical Works Borzesti, our company is one of the most important chemical producers from Romania. The main groups of products we deliver are: Chloralkali, Organic Solvents, Inorganic Chlorides, Alkylamines.

There was projects, since in due time of the King Carol the Second, about building of an industrial ensemble that allow processing of the raw materials from this part of Moldova, but hard times, put off their application. There was necessary about two decades as the authorities decide to capitalize the ample salt deposits and other available raw materials in this region.


The establishment act of Chemical Work Borzesti was signed in 1954, and in 1959 was inaugurated first objectives: Oxygen Plant, Detoxan and Monochlorobenzene Plants. Since 1960 started working the plants of Caustic Soda based an diaphragm technology, Liquid Chlorine, Sodium Hypochlorite, Evaporation – Melting Plant, together with Lime Chloride and Hexachloran Plants.


In the next years, the structure of the main technological processes was completed with: Chlorosodics Flux and derived and Organic Synthesis Products Flux, where stands out Acetylene - Vinyl Polychloride Line.
The range of products was continuously developed, including gradually other Chloralkali, Inorganic Chlorides, Organic Solvents, Plastics, Alkylamines, Synthesis Intermediaries, Pesticides and Compressed Gases.
In 1990, Chemical Factory Borzesti separated like a distinct company in Petrochemical Factory Borzesti and in 1991 became Chimcomplex SA Borzesti, a joint-stock company. The period after 1990 and till now was marked of the market economy. Our company cross through more stages of reorganization activities and modernization of in function capacities.


Since 1996 the Chlorosodics (Caustic Soda, Chlorine, Hydrocloric Acid and Sodium Hypochlorite) were manufactured at the industrial complex Soda M, based on ion exchange membranes technology in this field. This investment represented, at that moment, the most important romanian investment in the chemical industry after 1990.


The most important event for development of the company was signing the Privatization Contract, in June, 9 2003 when SCR Group became the main shareholder of Chimcomplex SA Borzesti. Thus, Chimcomplex SA Borzesti became part of SCR Group beside other important romanian companies of this group: Somes Dej, Sinterom Cluj Napoca, Contactoare Buzau, Iasitex Iasi, Novatextile Bumbac Pitesti, Uzuc Ploiesti si Caromet Caransebes.
