Pietricica Hill

Romania / Bacau / Valea Seaca /
hill, forest, invisible, do not draw title

Bacau pebble ridge (740 m maximum altitude at the top end), is an anticlinal structure [1] which is [2] orogen unit located on the outer side of the Carpathians - Subcarpaţii Moldova. It is considered the longest drive them, having a length of about 35 km [3].

Boundaries

It is located between Siret corridor - to the east - and the depression groove formed on the structure sinclinoriu [1] Tazlău-Casin Depression - west. The northeast is hill Barboiu neighbor (504 m, located between Bistrita Valley and Valley Tazlău), which is separated from River Trebisa [3] and to the south is separated by Trotuşului Hill Valley Ouşoru (783 m) to West [2]. Beyond alignment Gura Valley - Slobozia [3], in the southeast ridge [4] survives among a small fragment Trotuş and Siret piedmont - Piedmont Orbeni (or Pancesti) - Trotuş further north of Piedmont Zabrauti, which belongs Subcarpathians Curvature.
Geomorphology
Geology

The central axis of Pietricica located between mountains and socket sunken flysch of the Moldavian Platform, is a suspended trough filled with tough deposits, within a broader sinclinoriu spilled over the western rim of this platform. Pietricica consists mainly of Miocene rocks [2] and is predominantly raised in the center, where they were kept burdigaliene conglomerates and sandstones tougher. Negelulului North Valley and south to Trotuş Ascension were lower and amid rocks with low hardness modeling relief was intense.

Conglomerates with green schists (note feature), joins the Carpathian flysch older formations (shale disodilice and tiled menelitele Kliwa from Sarata, and Great Valley). Oligocene formations covered by green elements burdigaliene conglomerates which in turn are covered by Miocene formations (marl sandstone, gypsum, tuff and volcanic ash tortoniene) [3].

Eastern edge of the Peak Pietricica is strongly inclined, making continuation of the main ridge toward Siret with a strip of marl and sandstone hills carved with deep valleys carved by a sharp erosion [3].

The portion located between the Siret and Pietricica performed under the Glacis Quaternary piedmont ridge formed after the ascension.

Extending southern ridge, Piedmont Orbeni, gravel consists of Pliocene-Quaternary sands and [3].

Current features of the landscape were formed in the Late Pleistocene and Holocene in.
Morphology

Peak is the watershed between the basins of the rivers Siret (east) and Tazlău (west). The landscape has a rugged structure heights rounded and tapered tips [3], fragmented into shorter hills (501 m maximum altitude Chicera Mare Hill) north of Negel hair and massive and unified greater heights of over 600 m in the south thereof.

The hills of the northern portion includes left Trebisa: Chicera Mare (501 m), fetus (386 m), Samuilă (425 Poiana Mare (306 m) and those located between Trebisa and Negel: Slatina -VAL Rea (390 m), Rapa (468 m). The hills Calvary and Pietricica are an extension of the main ridge south of the wart.

Along the southern main ridge is lined by erosion alignment: gray (717 m), Fundu grindstone (701 m), Magura (660 m), end (740 m) Cherry (696 m) and others. From this emerge interfluves grows as narrow overtime, short and parallel (some aspect of hogbackuri), oriented northeast: New-Sarata Hill (574 m), Hill wide (561 m) Dumăriei Hill (461m) , Dlealul Dumache (523 m) Brădişu Hill (525 m).

Morphological, east piedmont Glacis separated by steep three morphotectonic (with distinction altitude of 250-300 m and 100-150 m in the central northern and southern areas), the crest. The gray hills, gains and cherry eastern slope of the mountains gives the impression of medium and Josie and the north and south is the overall appearance of gentle hills with large floodplains, sometimes almost horizontal (left Trebisa hills), except to the limit northwest (towards obârşiile Slatina, Budului and Cârligatei Valley) where several forms appear haughty.
Seci Valley to Valley watershed - by Piedmont Orbeni

Contact strip between steep and Glacis - where connection is abrupt - is very fragmented. Weak rocks resistant to erosion of Glacis, favored an evolution of the river system that fragmented in different heights hilly and micro-depressions of tectonic-erosive and erosive contact: Slatina (tectonic and erosive, the emergence of salty waters), Trebisa (erosive on the middle of Trebisa) Separate (erosive on a tributary of the wart), Sarata-Bai (tectonic and erosive, with the emergence of salt water on the upper course of the river Sarata), spotted (erosive spotted on the upper stream) Upper Cleja (erosive creek Cleja).

They are confined to the exterior buttresses hilly peak that kept fragments of cliffs Siret. Such an alignment is distinguished by lower heights: Sohodol Hill (325 m), Big Hill (370 m) Gherţu Hill (451 m) Călugăra Hill (492 m) Santa Hill (444 m) Moviliţa Hill (308 m) Hill Faraoani, Somuşca Hill (401 m)

For Trotuşului Valley, Piedmont Orbeni abrupt end [3].
Climate

Arealulului is characteristic of temperate continental climate with influences aridity, cold winters and hot summers long and often dry. The excessive nature of the climate is increasing to the east and south.

The presence Tazlău ridge between depression and mild foehnizarea Siret corridor favor of air masses from the west and northwest forested eastern slope descent and hill-valley breezes formation.

Microdepression formed upon contact with piedmont Glacis offers shades of shelter. It is worth pronounced aridity rainfall in the last 3 decades, meaning predominance of dry years and increasing torrent.

The average temperature has values of 8-8.5 ° C, precipitation approaching 580-600 l / m2.
Hydrography

The area is circumscribed by the rivers north Trebisa (emissary Bistrita) Slatina tributaries, Negel hook in the east of Siren Bahna tributaries, springs, Cleja Răcăciuni, Parava, Orbeni, Short, Botohan, Fantanele, disputes the southeast Trotuş (emissary Siret) and Gârbova Big Creek tributaries and in the west - in the southern part of the basin of Tazlău (emissary Trotuş) Nadis tributaries, Răchitiş, city, Helegiu, Văereni, Bratila.

Tazlău tributaries originating from the pebble ridge but have a relatively low rate permanent talveguri steep slope, high flow velocities and produce significant flooding. [5]

Ground waters are the basis conglomerato-sandstone horizon of the main peak and colluvial deposits and weathering crust on the other peaks.
