One of two middle schools in Alexandria VA ACPS. School used to be George Washington High school. Graduates include Willard Scott, Jim Morrison of the Doors, Mama Cass Elliot, and John Phillips.

The original building phase of George Washington High School was completed with assistance from the Public Works Administration (PWA), a New Deal program that operated during the Great Depression between 1933 and 1944.
