The site of Old Town Commons, a new community of luxury townhomes from the mid-to-upper $700,000s currently under construction (2011) by EYA builders. As a result of gentrification, several communities of former subsidised City of Alexandria housing blocks were demolished to make way for this new neighbourhood. It will consist of over 150 new townhomes designed in a mixture of neotraditional & modern styles. The builders, EYA, also plan to construct several new lower income 'multi-family' homes within Old Town Commons to house a portion of the original residents displaced by the development.
