Potomac Greens

Potomac Greens is a large townhome development that is a part of the larger Potomac Yards development zone headed by the City of Alexandria. It features a large collection of townhomes which were constructed in two distinct phases. The townhomes found mainly in the southern portion of the community were developed in the mid 1990s by the EYA corporation of Bethesda, Maryland. It features 120 townhomes designed and built in the neo-colonial fashion complete with federal styled windows with shutters on a brick façade, a variety of large ornamented pediments, and dormers surrounded by grey-slate roofing. The 2nd phase of the project, which is still currently under construction, is developed by Craftmark Homes. It features an eclectic mix of neo-colonial and neo-victorian styled townhomes offered in a variety of designs.

The community itself features a communal pool and a 15,000 square foot shopping centre called "Potomac Plaza," which was designed and built by the EYA corporation. The community is bounded between the tracks of the Washington Metro and the George Washington Memorial Parkway. The property which is community is found on was once a part of Potomac Yard, which once was the largest railway yard on the eastern coast of the United States. The area called Potomac Yard is now undergoing a massive redevelopment project sponsored by the City of Alexandria.
