Barksdale Air Force Base (BAD/KBAD)

Barksdale Air Force Base is an active US Air Force facility that is home to the 2nd Bomb Wing and its subordinate 11th, 20th and 96th Bomb Squadrons, all of which operate the B-52H Stratofortress strategic bomber.

Assigned to the Air Force Global Strike Command's (AFGSC) Eighth Air Force (8 AF), Barksdale Air Force Base is also home to the following tenant commands:
307th Bomb Wing
93rd Bomb Squadron
343rd Bomb Squadron
917th Fighter Group
47th Fighter Squadron
49th Test and Evaluation Squadron
8th Information Warfare Flight
26th Operational Weather Squadron

While the operational side of Barksdale Air Force Base is not freely accessible to the general public, the base grounds are home to the Eighth Air Force Museum, which is open to the public and offers several museum aircraft displays.
