cemetery, interesting place

A small family cemetery from the pioneer community of Witch Hazel. A few headstones surrounded by an iron fence. The community is listed as a RR stop for the Southern Pacific line on 1895 maps. It is approx. 1 mile west of the Reedville stop. The track is still in occasional use. Witch Hazel is said to have been named by Van B. DeLashmutt of Portland, who owned a farm here and racehorses. Witch Hazel had a post office from Aug 1904-Nove 1905.
