Holborn (traditionally pronounced Hoe-bun, though often now as Hol-bun) is an area of Central London. Originally a hamlet outside the city on the now underground River Fleet, it then became one of London's first suburban areas. Today the area, which is located around the road called Holborn (or High Holborn) is an area of many shopping and entertainment venues.
