Tehsil Bhudargad, District Kolhapur, Maharashtra.

Bhudargad Fort is situated near Paal village, 50 km south of Kolhapur and 12 km from Gargoti. It stands on a huge vertical rock. The fort was built by king Bhoj of the Shilahar family. Some remains of the fortification, the Dudhsagar lake, two Shiva temples, and a Bhairav temple are nearby attractions.

  • Bhudargad, a great place and shine of kolhapur. Situated in south Maharashtra (Kolhapur Dist.)
  • Bhudargad has a little known history, i said this because very few were able to tell me about this mysterious fort. i have visited this place many times and enjoyed every moment spent there. Being a maratha i feel a sense of proudness and respect for those who built it. Some says it was built by Shahu Maharaj... But i doubt and wonder... because it seems that it was built much before that.... Nothing great is left over there except some old tanks ( what we call it as "Top") and few unexpored small caves... One small beautiful temple of Shiv is there..... the greatness of this temple is that the tempreature level is low, infact cold, comapre to outer environment... i say its a well designed architecture that keeps the tempreature low.... I tried many times to know about this great fort from my grand father ( Shivaji Nalawade)... but didn't get a true picture... Any how a great place to visit...   • Bhudargad is the one of fort in west maharashtra. shivaji maharaj stay few days & goes to mouni maharaj at patgaon. Mouni maharaj is the shivaji maharajs best teacher. In the fort bhiaravnath mandir,beautiful lake & best surrounding area BHUDARGAD FORT IS MY BEST PLACE IN KOLHAPUR & also in MAHARASHTRA.
  • Bhudargad!!, I have some great pleasent memories assocated with this place. The grt Bhairy Mandeer,Being cool in every season, the cool water of 'doodhi tale',Hanuman at entarance, 'Chilmicha Khada ' in the way frm Ranewadi !!! ooohhhhhhhhh..... all amazing. I must visit the place again ....to reexperience those sweeet days!!

Kolhapur My academic carrier started from Bhudargad Fort , That time i was in forth std.and studing in aashram shala situated at Somwarpeth, Bhudargad Fort ,I also start sweeming in Doodhsagar Talav.I always proudly telling my friends i from Ashram school. and My native place Dindewadi is nearby 6 or 7 kilometers from Bhudargad.Jai Kolhapur,Jai Maharashtra.
