residence, LIGC - Long Island Gold Coast, Georgian (architecture)

Residence designed c. 1890 by the noted firm of Lamb & Rich in the Georgian Revival style with landscaping by Omsted for Frank Lusk Babbott, Sr. {financier}. Babbott served as a trustee of Brooklyn Trust Co. and Brooklyn Savings Bank. He married Lydia Richardson Pratt who in moved upon marrying in 1890. Babbott's son lived at "Beacon Farm" in Asharoken. The 18-acre estate in Glen Cove was given as part of a 1,000 acre plot of land owned by the Pratt family; Charles Pratt gave each of his children funds to build a home on that family plot. Pratt died in 1891 and only lived to see two of children's homes being built, Lydia's being one of them. It was inherited by their daughter Helen Lamb Babbott MacDonald.

Extensive renovations were made in 1950 and was later restored for a designer showcase in the fall of 2013 to benefit the American Heart Association.
