 hill, railway, interesting place

Archer hill is revered among railroad enthusiasts as one of the best places to observe Union Pacific action. The action is almost non-stop, and the roar from locomotives coming out of Cheyenne is worth the short hike from the road. Bring a camera!
One year the Union Pacific 844 steam engine was behind a deisel led frieght that was stalled coming up the east side of the hill. The 844 got behind the stalled train and pushed it some 18 miles up the hill.
