Accommodation: Young adults and young people occupy different residential units. There are currently 8 units for young people, this includes Bittern and Curlew as first night and induction units. Each Unit holds 30 young people. On the young adult side there are 10 Units, 8 of which hold 56 young adults, one that holds 44 and one Enhanced Unit of 16.

Almost all the young people's rooms are for single occupation. There is a mixture of double and single accommodation on the young adult side. All rooms have integral sanitation and TV and all areas operate the IEP scheme (incentives and earned privileges scheme). There is a robust anti-bullying policy in place. So young people in the 15 to 18 year age group (the "know it all" teenagers) who are on the slippery road to a life of crime, are placed in the same establishment as those people who have already started their criminal career (18 to 21 year olds) What better way is there for them to learn how to perfect their criminal activities? The British government should be so proud of itself

The prison system is supposed to reabilitate the young but to be honest from what i see in my day to day role as an officer within feltham this is just a sham message that the government tells you to put your mind at rest, how would you realy feel if you knew that the young boy who killed, raped or stabbed your loved one was realy running the place who could assault people on a daily basis inside and not be punnished because of the fear we would lose control (loss of your tv rights for 21 days is not punishment)!, how would you feel to know that they all love the attention and dont care one bit about the victims or the family and while they struggle outside to cope the young person is in there enjoying gym each day, a top notch education and good food especialy at christmas when they get steak and salmon, dont for one moment think that prison is not the best place for them because it is but not this prison this is a week prison living in fear that the 700 prisoners will take control and they will and when your neighbour returns to your estate they will be the same thug that left!
