Bralorne-Pioneer was BC's most productive gold mine, yielding more than 4 million ounces of gold between 1932 and 1971 from the former Bralorne, Pioneer and King mines which were amalgamated over the years. By the time it closed (due to the low fixed price of gold and increasing costs), Bralorne's workings extended through than 100 miles of tunnels and its shafts reached over a mile deep.

New owner Bralorne Gold Mines Ltd. has found several rich veins in the gaps between the historic mine workings where past exploration had been minimal. Bralorne has reopened the mine and built a new mill, pouring its first gold bar on May 27, 2011.

Currently operating at a 100 tonne per day capacity, the mine produces 5000-10000 ounces of gold annually. Expansion plans will see production more than double to 250 tonnes per day by 2016.
