Galle Fort is a heritage site by UNESCO. A beautiful place.
This fort was previously made by the Portuguese in 17th century. But after the Dutch captured Galle, they improved this and made a huge fort protecting Galle harbour which was the main harbour in Sri Lanka at that time and one of the main harbours in Southeast Asia.
