World's Largest Weather Vane (Whitehorse)

The world's largest weather vane is a retired Douglas DC-3 atop a swivelling support. The weather vane only requires a 5 km/hour wind to rotate.

  • How come there isn't one of these at every major airport? If every airport had this kind of wind vane, pilots could instantly know to point their plane in the same direction as that rotating plane for take-off and landing.
