This forest comming under the SORAKOLATHUR village panchayath-Thurinjapuram Block, Thuruvannamalai(T.V.MALAI)Taluk, Kalasapakkam Police Station, and Kalasapakkam assembly.

The distance between Sorkolathur forest and Thiruvannamalai is 14km and the way to reach that village is getdown in kondam stop (16km), busses from T.V.MALAI to Vellore. From that stop 3km have to walk towards east side. You have to cross the railway level (Villupuram to Katpadi),Sorakolathur big lake along with KAALI TEMPLE under the banniyan tree. You have enjoy the left side of the road very beautyful paddy field. Throwbathiyamman temple welcomes you. Nearly 2500 families are live,farming is the prime of the village peoples after this village area you have find nearly 400 families are live in colony along with Ramapuram,from here you have busses (TBN and Town Bus) to reach TVMALAI. The allied villages are Kusalapettai,Ramapuram, Indhira Nagar,and one more area near mallavadi.
