Sabine Lake is a 90,000-acre salt water estuary located in Jefferson County, Texas, Orange County, Texas, and Cameron Parish, Louisiana on the Texas-Louisiana border. The cities of Port Arthur and Groves, Texas share coastline with the lake.
The lake, approximately 14 miles long and 7 miles wide, is formed by the confluence of the Neches River and Sabine River. Through Sabine Pass, its 5-mile long tidal outlet, the lake drains some 50,000 square miles of Texas and Louisiana into the Gulf of Mexico.
