243-foot, 27-story postmodern residential building completed in 1986. Designed by James Stewart Polshek & Partners, it is mostly clad in red-orange brick above a 2-story pink granite base with black stone band courses. There are also some horizontal bands of black or beige brick on the upper floors. The tower has its main beige-brick clad façade angled toward the Statue of Liberty in the harbor and its two street frontages, slightly taller than the center shaft, step down in two setbacks. The top of the central shaft has an attractive, green-painted decorative ornament symbolic of a lighthouse.

Most of the windows on the central shaft are broader than those on the sides and the overall effect of the plan is quite dramatic. Particularly striking architecturally are the framing of the central shaft with narrow windows at its sides and the extension of the sides slightly above the central shaft. Recessed balconies line the intersections of the angled facade with the side facades. Liberty House has 240 condominium units, most of which face the esplanade and the Hudson River.
