Former Milwaukee Auditorium re-opened as Milwaukee Theatre in 2003.
In 1912, former president Theodore Roosevelt gave a speech in this auditorium shortly after being shot outside a Milwaukee hotel. Roosevelt credited his folded-up speech in his shirt pocket with helping to stop the bullet, saving his life.
