This is the Largest Lake of Lake District (Kanchipuram Dist.) of Tamil Nadu. This Lake irrigates a huge area of agricultural fields in the taluk. Because of this famous lake, Madhuranthakam is Known as "Lake Town" ("Eri Nagaram" in Tamil).Many Birds visiting Vedanthangal visit this lake too.
