This is a complex interchange between Interstate 66 and Virginia Route 243 (Nutley Street) south of Vienna. It is essentially a full cloverleaf interchange with collector-distributor roads along I-66. There is also a sort of rebound folded diamond serving Vaden Drive with loop ramps from the same C-D roads, using Saintsbury Drive and Country Creek Road/Virginia Center Boulevard as connecting frontage roads. These additional ramps are to provide access to the Vienna Metro Station, the western terminus of the Orange Line. It was originally built around 1964 as a partial access parclo-A (missing a westbound I-66 entry ramp). The ramps to the Vienna Station were added with the Metro construction in 1985. The main interchange was entirely rebuilt slightly further west as a cloverleaf in the early 1990s.
