Cape Lisburne LRRS Airport (LUR/PALU)

USA / Alaska / Point Hope /
 airport, military

Constructed in 1952 to support the building and resupply of the Cape Lisburne Air Force Station, the Cape Lisburne LRRS Airport is a military-owned airstrip which is presently used to support the operation and maintenance of the minimally attended radar station atop Cape Lisburne. The airport is not open to the public and is not maintained in the Winter, when local conditions are often severe enough to prevent aircraft operations.
