Davies Building

USA / New Jersey / West New York / Park Avenue, 460
 office building, bank, Modern (architecture)

272-foot, 22-story International-style office building completed in 1955 for Tishman Realty & Construction. Designed by Emery Roth & Sons, it is clad in silver aluminum panels above a ground floor clad in grey polished granite. The main entrance is at the north end on the avenue, with a glass revolving door next to a glass double-door, both slightly recessed below a small metal canopy. To the south of the entrance there are four bays of almost-square show-windows in beveled granite surrounds. The south facade on 57th Street has four more window bays flanking a commercial bank entrance that has glass double-doors set in a glass wall framed by a similar beveled stone surround. Near the west end is a smaller storefront with a large plate-glass show-window and an entrance with glass double-doors, both below a screen of vertical metal rods. At the far west end is a small bay with metal service doors below metal louvers.

The metal-clad upper floors have four windows in each bay, with seven bays on the south facade and five on the east. The geometric, aluminum spandrel panels between floors are indented at each window. There are setbacks on both main facades above the 13th, 15th, & 19th floors, with a mechanical penthouse on top set back from the main roof line. On the east elevation, the top two setbacks are deeper at the southern two-thirds of the facade, and on the south elevation, there is an narrow extra setback at the west end that begins above the 11th floor.

The ground floor is occupied by a Citibank branch, and Audemars Piguet watches.
