  • It doesn't say so, but I think I was the original poster of that caption. Anyway, my business is going into its slow season so now I may have time to post more photos of my visits around the world. This is the famous W Hotel (chain) in New Orleans. There are two W's, one on Poydras Street, a busy business corridor not far from the French Quarter and one actually IN the Quarter (as it's affectionaltely called by the locals) on Chartres (pronounced Char-terrs) Street. Both are fabulous in every way and my personal favorite hotel chain worldwide. This one on Poydras has great amenities, including Whiskey Blue, a cool bar/lounge chain that the W works with. I go in sometimes after work, sit, have a cool 'something' and just put my head back and listen to the music. Other time, later in the evening, you might even find someone interesting to talk with... GREAT staff... no, really... even by New Orleans standards (which is saying a lot!), great furninshings, great valet service, the whole bit. Really should be a five-star, but the Windsor Court (Oh, My!) is next door and I'm sure they wouldn't be too happy if a commoner hotel like the W stole any of their 'charm' (see my entry on the Windsor).
