Pipeline Road

Built as an access road along a planned and unused pipeline linking the Caribbean and Pacific, Pipeline Road is one of the best birding sites in Panama and Central America. Well over 400 bird species have been recorded along this road (running through primary rainforest). Part of Soberania National Park.

  • Grab a pack, hitch a ride in a Smithsonian pick-up truck, and sleep under a bridge!
  • Spot on - great for wildlife esp birds! I also saw a jaguarundi run across the trail here.
