  The Panama Canal is an engineering marvel that cut shipping time between the Atlantic and the Pacific by at least a half. It stands as a tribute to the numerous workers that lost their lives building it. The tremendous efforts of the medical personnel at eradicating malaria and yellow fever greatly helped. Transiting through the canal gives one a sense of awe and wonder.
