One of America's largest "lost airports". God bless.

The extension of the main runway can still be seen north of SH183. It was used for autocross for a time, but now just seems to be used as a practice area for striping crews.

Folks interested in obtaining photos of this airport, they are available from the Univ. of Texas library in Arlington, TX. Check with SPECIAL COLLECTIONS up on the sixth floor. They have a number of black and white and some color images of this airport in their collection. A charge of $10 per print is charged for personal use. Well worth the visit if you have an interest in this airport. Terminal torn down August 1980. Nothing left of this once interesting airport.
