Formerly a 1960s shopping centre. Its demolition and renovation was approved in 2006, along with a plan to incorporate a large Tesco Extra supermarket and widening of the A4040.

There were objections raised to the development including the loss of land to the park and also the decreased size of the market hall. However, lack of business in the market hall was damaging the sustainability of the building itself and therefore it was decided the size had to be reduced. Many small business are located further east in the concrete building as well as small branches of larger companies.

The development was completed in 2012.

Bakeman House, a tower block, is located on top of the building and is home to mainly elderly residents. Views from this highrise are good however views of the city centre are blocked on the whole by the Equipoint offices. It was refurbished immediately prior to the shopping centre redevelopment.
