Built in 1880, the reservoir sits at one of the highest points in Pittsburgh. It is a secondary reservoir, drawing its water from Highland Park Reservoir No. 1.

  • As I remember the reservoir was at higher elevation set in the middle of a city park. You could see, on a clear day, both rivers coming together to form the Ohio River. Probably looking down miles away from the southwest corner view of the city,... seeing highways, train tracks along with the rivers. There was a special feeling at 8 or 9 years of age looking down on Commerce (my special kingdom). Today, this is my Virtual Reality Self-hypnosis Retreat! Why?
