The Rocky Ridge tanks of the Pennsylvania-American Water Company sit at the highest point in the municipality of Bethel Park, elevation 1370 feet. Two of the tanks were set up in the late 1950s in response to the suburban boom; their dimensions indicate a capacity of about 5 million gallons each. The northwest tank ("Tank #3"), newer and a bit taller than the other two, has a known capacity of 5.9 million gallons.
