Remains of the WWII Nore Army fort, build by Guy Maunsell. This was the first army fort to be build in the Thames Estuary, followed by Red Sands Fort and Shivering Sands fort, which are still standing today.
Also a few ship wrecks are visible. The Oxford picture frame is the base of one of the seven towers of the fort.
Note that this was not the actual position of the fort. The fort bases were towed here in 1960 to be dumped.
