Tiberias (Hebrew: טְבֶרְיָה, Tverya; Arabic: طبريا, Ṭabariyyā) is an Israeli city on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee. Established around 20 CE, it was named in honour of the second emperor of the Roman Empire, Tiberius.
