Russeifa

Jordan / az-Zarqa / ar-Russayfah /

Russeifa is Jordan's fourth largest city (2009 estimate: 280,000 inhabitants). It is part of Zarqa governorate and is located in the Zarqa River basin on the Amman-Zarqa highway. Along with Amman and Zarqa, Russeifa is the third city in the Amman metropolitan area. The city houses several heavy industries.

  • Rusifa is part of Zarqa county , it’s the main source of phosphate in Jordan and the new studies showed that uranium is found with very good quality and quantity . The population is almost 700,000 people most of them came from gulf after the war in 1991 . Rusifa is divided in the middle by the ottoman train railway and Zarqa river in the past ( now dried )

  • This town was a very beautifull town and it was so green untill the lack of water and phosphate production made it so dry and unwelcoming. I have not been there since 1991 as i now live in the UK but i miss home .

  • What happened to this beautifull town?is it true that it has water problems ?i read that they have no water for months not days.i also so the intag company is closed and embty !!!!!.i used to live in aljabal alshamali and i miss my times there .Now i live in the Uk and i always dream of jordan and al ruseifa and i have never forgot my home.if someone has some pictures please please .
