  • Please change the name to Lockheed Propulsion Company Site 2, Laborde Canyon. This was a 2,800 acre site for building and testing solid rocket motors in the 1960's. It is now owned by Riverside County. The foundation for the factory is a white rectange in the north easterly corner of the diagram. Access to this property is restricted and best attempted by dirt bike. extreme caution should be exercised due to the steep canyons and danger of falling down a ravine. This area is in the BAD LANDS and it is easy to get disoriented and lost there. You are well advised to enter early in the morning and leave 2 hours before sunset. A group of 3 or 4 dirt bikes is recommended. To enter this area, take Jack Rabbit Trail from State Rout 60 and then follow the huge white high pressure gas pipes into the property. A large concrete bunker and THE PRYSM can be found there.
  • I have a picture of the the guided missle powered by the rocket motors made at Laborde Canyon Site 2. If you want to see a few close up photos of this place go to https://www.flickr.com/photos/129259403@N02/
  • About 1,500 SR75-LP-1 rocket motors were produced by Lockheed Propulsion Company, here at Laborde Canyon Site. They powered the Boeing AGM-69 SRAM air to ground short range attack missle between 1966 and 1974.
