  This fort lies in a partly collapsed state mainly on the sea front sides. When I visited Harnai way back in 1973 I went around and saw the colonial bunglow that was in ruins. It was almost intact till the watchman died. I was told that miscreants plundered the bunglow and took away everything. I had seen some of the brass switches and electric cables. It was negligence on part of the concerned Government Department. Later on under the Tourism Department lease it was taken over by Kamat Group of Hotels. Sorry to note that the site was thoroughly mismanaged and closed down within a year of it's launch as a resort. It had no fresh source of water unlike Suvarndurg across the sea.
