Sarp Border Gate

Sarp Border Gate which opens to Georgia and the Silkroad is the land border gate that has the heaviest passenger crossing in our country. The renewal of the Sarp Border Gate is completed by, once again, Customs and Tourism Enterprises (GTI) in 2009 for the first time. However, the renewal works were started again in 2016 in order to deal with this burden effectively and ensure faster and comfier crossing at Sarp Border Gate that has begun to provide service for nearly 7 million passengers annually after the increasing trade volume between the two country and beginning of the crossing without identity card for passengers.

Sarp Border Gate whose modernization was completed by the end of 2018 and the field area was extended to 45.000 sqm continues to provide services to both passengers and TIRs with its duty-free shop at which the passengers can securely shop and food and beverage service areas..
