Lazistan (Laz: Lazona, Romanized: Lazona; Georgian: Lazeti, or Çaneti Ç'aneti; Ottoman Turkish: лазстан, Romanized: Lazistān) is a historical and cultural region in the Caucasus and Anatolia, the term was mainly used during the Ottoman rule. The region is traditionally inhabited by Lazes, and a large part of Lazeti is in Turkey, a small part is in Georgia, with three settlements on the coast of the Black Sea, the villages of Sarfi, Kvariati and Gonio.
