A beautiful monastery, that was named after the most famous Bulgarian saint John of Rila (876-946).
Ruen Monastery of St. Ivan Rilski is located about 3.5 km southwest of the Boboshevo village of Skrino - the birthplace of the famous Bulgarian saint Ivan Rilski. The monastery is one of the newest in Bulgaria. It was built in 2000. At the same place in the past there was another monastery called "St. Demetrius of Thessaloniki".
