"Kapana" Quarter (Plovdiv)

During the National Revival, "Kapana" [The Trap] evolved as a convenient centre for the development of the crafts and services. It seemed to pulsate with the heartbeat of a public organism thirsty for prosperity. In terms of urban planning, Kapana fully corresponded to its name: it was a labyrinth of narrow streets in which you could very easily get lost Or maybe to find what you are looking for... There was everything here and everything was produced here.
The southern line of the Kapana reaches the imposing Djoumaya Mosque, and the western line touched the walls of the amazing architectural creation Kourshoum Han [Bullet Inn]. Unfortunately, the inn has been destroyed and in its place the previous market halls had been reconstructed as a modern shopping centre. However, the soul of Kapana seems to continue to wander along its narrow streets and to hope that people would remain true to their love and respect for the legacy of the past.
